  • January 3 – SB County Museum Events: The public is invited to visit the San Bernardino County Museum from 9am to 5pm on Sunday, January 3, free of charge.   • January 13 - On Wednesday, January 13 the Reading Discoveries book discussion group will meet at the San Bernardino County Museum to talk about “Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies,” by Jared Diamond.   • January 16 – HOPEWorldWide (hopeww.org) in collaboration with SB City Unified School District are planning a “Community Day” and beautification project at Golden Valley Middle School located at 3800 Waterman Ave from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. featuring a health and resource fair, carnival games, and more.   • January 16 - Museum Director Robert McKernan will host a workshop on identifying gulls, terns, and shorebirds at the San Bernardino County Museum from 10am to noon on Saturday, January 16. This workshop is scheduled to coincide with his field trip, “Birds of theSalton Sea,” on January 30, 2010. Space is limited, and advanced reservations are required.   • January 18 – Martin Luther King Jr Holiday….Chamber Office Closed in Observance.

  • January 18 - The San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands, usually closed on Mondays, will be open on the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday, Monday, January 18, from 9am to 5pm. The San Bernardino County Museum is at the California Street exit from Interstate 10 in Redlands. The museum is open Tuesdays through Sundays and holiday Mondays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $8 (adult), $6 (military or senior), $5 (student) and $4 (child aged 5 to 12). Children under five and Museum Association members are admitted free. For more information, visit www.sbcountymuseum.org.

  • January 20 - SAN BERNARDINO CITY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESENTS: BUILDING SCHOOLS, BUILDING CONNECTIONS BUSINESS FAIRE 2010
    Local businesses are invited to attend a special business faire to learn about upcoming construction projects planned for the San Bernardino, Colton, Rialto, and Snowline school districts.  The free business faire will be on Wednesday, January 20 from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Community Room of the San Bernardino City Unified School District Board of Education building, located at 777 North F Street in downtown San Bernardino. Attendees will be able to register on district vendor lists, learn about district prequalification and bidding requirements, and network with school district officials and other businesses.  Those interested in attending should RSVP before January 14 by contacting Susan McKee, Business Outreach Program coordinator, via email at susan.mckee@sbcusd.com or by calling (909) 388-6100.
